Dear Hearts and Gentle People
      The long table is laden with every food imaginable including the fattest, shiniest turkey we could find. All of us are seated and waiting, some with fork in hand. The most important ritual at this Thanksgiving feast has not yet been performed and we all instinctively know that.

      Change. Seems few things remain the same these days. People say change is good but that's not always true. Not long ago I read about 25 things about to disappear in the United States. Some will surprise you. Some you will be glad to see go, and some, well, I wonder how we'll adjust once they're gone. The changes are due mainly to the Internet and better technologies.

Library Check-Out
      Friends of the Library is gearing up for its mammoth book sale which will begin on Thursday, November 25. Members will begin putting out books that day and will be open for business as the books are put in place in the Dova Partridge Annex. Since the library will be closed on Thanksgiving day, the 26th and throughout that weekend, the sale will resume on Monday, Nov. 30.
