Emma Smith of Lincolnton is featured in the "Portraits of Life" calendar for 2010. Published by the University Health Care System, the calendar contains photographs of various breast cancer survivors in the area. Miss Emma, who has been cancer free for 20 years, volunteers her time and expertise to help others who have been diagnosed with the disease. At University Hospital, she is known simply as "Miss May."
