Jimmy Ray Quarles

JIMMY RAY QUARLES JIMMY RAY QUARLES Jimmy Ray Quarles, 74 of Watkinsville, Ga., entered into rest October 8, 2009. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Wood Quarles.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Michael Newman, Morris Bryant and Randy Griffiths officiating. Interment followed in Oconee Memorial Park in Watkinsville.

Mr. Quarles was born in Lincoln County but lived most of his life in Watkinsville, Ga. He was the son of the late George Quarles and the late Betty McKellar Quarles. Mr. Quarles served in the U. S. Army and was retired as owner and operator of Quarles Upholstery. He served as the minister for the Word of God Tabernacle in Mableton, Ga. for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Newman.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Quarles and wife, Lisa of Lincolnton and Micah Quarles and wife, Michelle of Colorado; two daughters, Shirley Batchelor of Athens and Linda Alewine and husband, Bud of Lexington; and three brothers, John Quarles of Athens, Terry Quarles of Crawford and Charles Quarles of Florida.
