Midway Methodist was organized on June 23, 1906, authorized to be built midway between Goshen and Chenault. R. C. "Roddy" Norman donated one acre of land and the church building was completed the following year. By 1908 the attendance roll numbered 65
Midway school was established in late summer of 1907. A one room schoolhouse was built on the church grounds and church literature was used for teaching. The 1911 Midway School picture shows 36 students present, representing at least 15 families.
Midway was a thriving community in the early 1900's and the church has been a vital part of the community. It has touched many lives over the years. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite covered dishes and come share this day of fellowship and reminiscing.
Rev. Jim Leonard is the pastor of Midway UMC and will be bringing the morning message.
