Julia Mae Crook Price

JULIA MAE CROOK PRICE JULIA MAE CROOK PRICE Mrs. Julia Mae Crook Price, of McCormick Hwy., entered into rest on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at her residence.

Funeral service were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, at Double Branches Baptist Church with Rev. Jacquelyn Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Price, a native of Lincoln County, was the daughter of the late Benjamin Tillman Crook and the late Lizzie Mae Holcomb Crook. She was a talented homemaker and served as a para-pro with the Columbia County School System. Julia was a skilled basket weaver and enjoyed sharing her love of baskets with others through demonstrations at Pioneer Day, Old Timers Festival and Mule Day. She also taught a basket weaving class at the Lincoln County Public Library. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Price III and a son, Julian Lynn Price.

Survivors include one daughter, Elsie Elizabeth Terrell and husband, Walter of Augusta Ga.; three sons, John Edwin Price and wife, Judy of Gainesville, Ga., John M. Price, IV and wife, Renee of Augusta, and David A. Price and wife, Anne of Lincolnton; one brother, Benjamin "Benny" Crook of Burnsville, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara "Bob" Baker and husband, Robert of Martinez, Ga. and Georgette Ezell and husband, Ray of Clinton, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Krystal N. Stewart, John E. Price, Jr., Walter R. Terrell III, Jay M. Price, Judianna M. Price, David A. Price, Jr. and Julia Latricia Inglett; and four great-grandchildren, James R. Stewart, Charlotte A. Price, Carolyn E. Stewart and Lucy Anne Price.

Serving as pallbearers were Jay Price, Brian R. Stewart, Walter R. Terrell III, Jimmy Baker, Andy Baker and Greg Baker.
