Board of elections meetings
The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. Any changes to the scheduled dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.
GED/Adult classes
Augusta Technical College and Lincoln County Family Connection are offering GED/Adult Literacy classes on Mon. and Tues., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, please call 706-359-3425 or 706-359-5769.

Male chorus anniv.
Tabernacle Baptist Church will celebrate its male chorus anniversary on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3:00pm. Rev. Ray C. Lewis is pastor.
Choir anniversary Mt. Zion Baptist Church Choir will celebrate its anniversary Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Rev. Robert Crawford is pastor.
Class reunion
The class of 1974 will celebrate it 35th high school reunion Sat., Nov. 2, 7 p.m. at Tara Clubhouse. If you are planning on attending, please provide a current email or street address by calling Larry Ramsey at 706-513- 3513. A letter will be mailed to you with details of the reunion.
Anniversary celebration
The Usher and Usheretts of Tabernacle Baptist Church will celebrate their 82nd anniversary on Sun., Nov. 1 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Charles Lacy and Mt. Pleasant and Mt. Nebo Baptist Church will be in charge of the service. Rev. Ray C. Lewis is pastor.
Mobile mammography
The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on Sept. 30.
Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health department at 359-3154 for more information
4-H Day at UGA
4-H Day at UGA. The Lincoln County Extension office has tickets available for the Nov. 7, 2009 UGA vs. Tennessee Tech football game, cost is $50.

Bridge games
Duplicate bridge games will be held weekly at two area locations. The first is at Hickory Knob State Park restaurant every Monday. The restaurant is open immediately before and immediately after the game that begins at 1:30 Monday afternoon.
The other game is held on most Thursdays at the Savannah Lakes Village Activity Center in McCormick at 6:30 pm. Both games are open to all interested players at all skill levels.
Although it is best to bring your own partner, we will always try to find you a partner. The Monday game is sanctioned by the ACBL, and master points are awarded. Players are not required, however, to be members of the ACBL.

Free flu vaccine
The Emory University Flu project is once again making free flu vaccine available to middle and high school students in Lincoln This vaccine is totally free. Last year we were able to vaccinate more than 100 students in Lincoln county. It is our hope that this year more families will take advantage of this opportunity to protect the health of their families. FOL to meet
Friends of the Library will meet on Thursday, September 24 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library in the Dova Partridge Annex.
Since the library is strapped for state funds this year, we invite anyone with extra time and interest in promoting the library to attend. Fund raisers are coming up. Please note that this is a change in meeting day.
Bingo is Friday
Bingo is played at the American Legion Post 194, Lincolnton, Georgia, every Friday at 7:30 p.m. A snack bar is operated by the Ladies Auxiliary available during bingo. For more information, contact (706) 359-3445.
Homecoming at New Hope
New Hope Baptist Church will celebration its homecoming on Sunday, October 4th during its morning worship.
Fall Revival will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7 pm.

Church anniversary
Greenwood Baptist Church will celebrate its 225th anniversary Oct. 4. Morning worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a catered barbecue lunch. Special speaker will be Rev. Donald Walton.
Rev. Walton will also be speaking Mon., Tues., and Wed. night at revival services at 7:30 p.m. nightly.
Translated sermons
First Assembly of God has begun a new ministry to reach the hispanic community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The sermons are now interpreted via a microphone/ earphone system. Those who do not understand English wear earphones and the service is translated by Ms. Isabel Garrett. Anyone who knows of someone who might benefit from this ministry is asked to call the church office at 706-359-7237.
Homecoming service
Jones Chapel will have Homecoming service Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. with special guest speaker Rev. Pierce Ashmore. A covered dish lunch will follow the service.
Program at FBC
First Baptist Church will have a Men Marching of Christ Program Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. Rev. Hull and Heards Chapel Church will be in charge of the service. The public is invited.
Ghost stories wanted
The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and the Lincoln County Development Authority are collecting local urban legends and ghost stories. They do ask that all stories are historical and entertaining in nature, involve a supernatural event, and are believed to have a non-fiction origin. These stories will be featured in a Halloween story telling to be held at the Welcome Center October 31, 2009 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. For more information, please call (706) 359-7970.
CCLC to meet
The Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will meet Thurs., Sept. 17, 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library. Guest speaker will be Gerry Purcell, candidate for Insurance Commissioner for the state of Georgia General Election November 2010. If anyone has questions about insurance, come and be heard. Come and be a part of the CCLC.
Pastor's anniversary
Ebenezer Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor Fred Perriman's fifth anniversary Sept. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Martin and Antioch Baptist Church of Augusta, will be our special guests.
Freshwater Coast pageant
The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce will host the first Miss Freshwater and Junior Miss Freshwater Coast Pageant Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The pageant is open to females 15-21 years of age that live within 50 miles of Lake Thurmond.

Tuesday prayer
True Fellowship invites everyone to prayer each Tuesday 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Bishop James Ware is pastor. The Deacons and Deaconess of Revival at Salem Salem Baptist Church will have revival services Thurs., Sept. 17 - 20. Rev. Jon Reed, evangelist, will be the guest speaker and Rick Jowers will be leading the music. Services will begin at 7 p.m. each night.
We are looking for an outpouring of God's love and blessings and invited the public to join us. A nursery will be provided.
Anniversary celebration
First Baptist Church will celebrate their anniversary Sept. 27 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Smith and Macedonia Baptist Church of Augusta will be in charge of service. Every church is invited. .
Homecoming at Midway Midway UMC will have homecoming on Sun., Oct. 11 with services starting at 11 a.m. followed by a covered dish meal at 1 p.m. Please join us for a day of reminiscing and fellowship.
Dinner at Post 194
Dinner served at American Legion Post 194 every Wed. night at 6:30 p.m. and Fri. at 7 p.m. Wednesday's menu changes weekly. Every Friday is steak night. A large variety salad bar, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, bread, dessert and ice tea are included with steak. Come out and join us for a delicious meal.

Campers on Mission

Two-day event
Tabernacle Baptist Church will host its two day Family and Friends event Sat., Sept. 26, 9 a.m. grill and bake off; judging at 1 p.m. On Sun., Sept. 27, 2 p.m. Rev. Freddie Neal and Harmony Baptist Church will be special guests.
