Jennifer Lyn Tankersley weds Charles Ollie Templeton III
MR. AND MRS. CHARLES OLLIE TEMPLETON III Jennifer Lyn Tankersley and Charles Ollie Templeton, III of Valdosta were united in marriage Saturday, June 27, 2009 at eleven thirty in the morning at Madison Baptist Church in Madison with Dr. James E. Ross officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Jane Shytle, pianist, Mr. David Shytle, guitarist, and Mrs. Marilyn Elliott, soloist. A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed at Heritage Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Tankersley of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jimmie Sue Smith, the late Mr. Bernard H. Smith, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles O. Tankersley, all of Lincolnton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles O. Templeton, Jr. of Valdosta. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lorenza Dow Majors of Folkston and Dr. and Mrs. Charles O. Templeton, Sr. of Valdosta.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Maggie Sottero Couture diamond-white gown. The strapless A-line gown featured a bodice with an embellished lace sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical wrap. The side front was highlighted with a draped taffeta overlay revealing an embellished lace underlay. The back of the gown was accented with a corset closure and three romantic lace motifs. The bride's fingertip veil had jeweled edging and pearl beading. The bride wore a pearl necklace and earrings belonging to the groom's late grandmother and held a white embroidered handkerchief given by her grandmother. She carried an arrangement of white hydrangeas, white roses, freesia and hypericum berries with pearl bead plumes.
The church was classically decorated with large ferns, roebelenii palms and magnolia leaves. The large stained glass windows were filled with magnolia leaves centered with pillar candles. The family pews were dressed with blue hydrangea blossoms and greenery from the gardens of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Parramore of Madison.
Maid of Honor was the bride's sister, Sue Ellen Tankersley of Savannah. Bridesmaid was Elizabeth Templeton Matthews, the groom's sister, of Gainesville. Bridesmaid dresses were tea length midnight blue silk dresses. Flower girl was the groom's niece, Marie Elizabeth Matthews of Gainesville. Best man was the groom's father, Charles O. Templeton Jr. Groomsmen were Charles Bradley Tankersley, the bride's brother, of Covington and Robert Henry Matthews Sr., the groom's brother-in-law, of Gainesville. Junior groomsman was the groom's nephew, Robert Henry Matthews Jr., of Gainesville.
Following a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Valdosta.
