Praise for elected officials

TO THE EDITOR

The Lincoln Journal published a letter from Walker Norman who had the superbity to demand a local property tax assessment freeze on July 23, 2009.

This after this past commission chairman led the way for total Lincoln County taxes to increase 91% per capita during just his last two administrations.

The Lincoln Journal also published the Lincoln County government's planned tax structure for 2009 on August 27, 2009. The plan does not freeze taxes but will actually lower the Lincoln County government's part of the total county tax bill by 5.86%.

I am sure that after further review of the decades of now entrenched wasteful county government spending habits that Wade Johnson and his team of fiscally responsible public servants will leave even more money in our pockets. If not, with the help of the taxpayers of this county, we will vote them and every other elected official who does not consider the impact of tax increases on us out of office too.

All the money our current administration saves us needs to be spent locally, by the way.
