Faye Gunn

Mrs. Faye Gunn, 56, of Warrenton, Georgia, entered into rest August 4, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Charles Gunn.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 7, at First United Methodist Church with Revs. Jim Hanna and Kirk Bozeman officiating. Interment followed in the Johnson Cemetery.

Mrs. Gunn was born in Jacksonville, Florida but lived in Warrenton, Georgia most of her life. She was the daughter of the late William Edward Ellis and the late Evelyn Leona Williams Ellis. She was the head teller and Office Resource Manager at Habersham Bank in Warrenton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Warrenton where she had served as treasurer of the building and restoration fund. Mrs. Gunn also served as a former Children's Sunday School teacher.

Walker reunion

The 89th annual Walker Family Reunion for the descendants of Confederate soldier, Daniel Lumpkin Walker and Margaret Elizabeth Stevenson Walker will be held at Fishing Creek Baptist Church on Sunday August 16th.

The speaker will be Tom Poland. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and writes professionally, including magazine features, books, and a weekly column for the Lincoln Journal. Tom is a native of Lincoln County and the son of Ruth Walker Poland and the late John M. Poland, Jr.

All connected families are invited to attend, and bring their favorite dishes, old photographs and documents to share. A covered dish lunch will be served at 1 p. m.

Class of 74 to meet

Class of 1974, our 35th celebration is being planned for Nov. 28, 2009 at the Tara Clubhouse of Savannah Lakes. There will be a meeting on Aug. 30, 4 p.m., at the Lincoln County Library to finalize our celebration. Garnett-Harris reunion

The Garnett-Harris family reunion will be held Aug. 14-16. Get acquainted will be held at Newberry Missionary Baptist Church Friday night at 7 p.m. The fish fry will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Garnett, 1011 Garnett-Harris Dr., on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Survivors include her husband Charles W. Gunn of Warrenton; a son, David C. Gunn and his wife Erin of Norwood, Ga.; two daughters, Tami Burnley and husband, Dave of Thomson, Ga. and Sharon Ball and husband, Tim of Augusta, Ga.; three brothers, James Douglas Ellis of Warrenton, Larry Ellis of Gibson, Ga. and Ralph Ellis of Thomson; five sisters, Patricia Kitchens of Thomson, Deloria Toulson of Lincolnton, Terri Bales of Gibson, Felicia Johnson of Alma, and Monica Usry of Gibson; seven grandchildren, Travis W. Gunn, Dylan Gunn, Casey Gunn, Ridge Gunn, Ryan Usry, D. J. Burnley and Blaire Ball.
