Board of elections meetings
The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. Any changes to the scheduled dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.
GED/Adult classes
Augusta Technical College and Lincoln County Family Connection are offering GED/Adult Literacy classes on Mon. and Tues., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, please call 706-359-3425 or 706-359-5769.
NA meetings
N.A. meetings are held at the Lincoln County Library from 6 - 7 p.m. every Friday. For more information, please call 706-359-5808.
Covered dish lunch Pine Grove United Methodist A lake level celebration and covered dish lunch will be held at the Lincoln County Historical Park Aug. 5. Please bring your dish at 11:30 and visit for a while. The blessing will take place at 12 sharp so those needing to get back to work can take a plate with them.
This celebration is to thank God for our rain and to salute the Corps of Engineers for filling up all three of our lakes.

LCFA to meet
The Lincoln County Fireman's Association will meet July 30 at the Lincoln County OES office on School St. A meal will be served at 7 p.m. All firemen from all the districts in Lincoln County are asked to please attend. You will get a chance to meet the new EMS Director.
Revival at Pine Grove
Church will have revival services with Evangelist Donald Walton Sun., Aug. 2 - Fri., Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. nightly. On Sun., Aug. 2, morning services will begin at 11 a.m. with evening services at 7 p.m. A fellowship dinner will be held Wed. at 6 p.m. as well as an ice cream social on Friday following the service.
Barbecue plate sale
Lincolnton City Fire Dept. will sale barbecue chicken plates Sat., Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Plates cost $6 each. First come, first served.
Mobile mammography
The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on Aug. 31 and Sept. 30.
Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health department at 359-3154 for more information
Free hair cuts
The Legionnaires of American Legion Post 597 will provide free haircuts to students who will be attending the elementary school this school term. The event will be held on Sat., Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the post home. Children must be accompanied by an adult and must remain with them until haircuts are completed.

Charlotte Ritchie will be in concert at the Tignall Baptist Church in Tignall on Sunday August 9 at 6:00 p.m.. A love offering will be taken.
Revival services
Annual revival services for Harmony Baptist Church in Lincolnton, will be held Mon., Aug. 3 through Thurs., Aug. 6, at 7:30 p.m. each night. Rev. Homecoming at New Work
New Work Baptist Church is having Homecoming celebration August 9 at Camp Daniel Marshall. The worship service will begin at 10:30am, with Pastor Charles Swan bringing the worship message. There will be a covered dish meal directly following the service.

Consignors wanted
Lincolnton United Methodist Church is looking for consignors for its semi-annual kids consignment sale which will be held Aug. 27 - 29. Cosignors receive 60% and missions receives 40%. Please contact the church office at 706-359-4339 for more information.

Community cookbook
The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce is creating a Community Cookbook. We are looking for recipes, children's artwork, and local businesses to advertise. We are looking for a minimum of 500 recipes. Please contact the chamber at 706-359-7970 to receive a submission form.
Bingo is Friday
Bingo is played at the American Legion Post 194, Lincolnton, Georgia, every Friday at 7:30 p.m. A snack bar is operated by the Ladies Auxiliary available during bingo. For more information, contact (706) 359-3445.

The annual reunion of Freeland- Crawford family descendants of James Manning Corey Freeland and Caroline Augusta Butler Freeland will be held Aug. 9, 12:15 p.m. at Plum Branch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Plum Branch, S.C. Please bring a picnic lunch and tea.

Dinner at Post 194
Dinner served at American Legion Post 194 every Wed. night at 6:30 p.m. and Fri. at 7 p.m. Wednesday's menu changes weekly. Every Friday is steak night. A large variety salad bar, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, bread, dessert and ice tea are included with steak. Come out and join us for a delicious meal.
Back to school party A Back to School Party, sponsored by and located at New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy. 220, will be held Sat., Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. for children ages 4 - 10 with music, food, activities, inflatibles and water slide.

Society meeting Aug. 5
The Lincoln County Historical Society's August meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 5. Following this meeting, the society will host the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners, the Ministrial Association, the Corps of Engineers, and citizens from the entire region in a celebration to thank God for our spring rains that raised the lake twelve feet.
Season tickets on sale
Reserved seats for the 2009 Red Devil Football Season will be on sale at the school's ticket window beginning Mon., Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
If you have purchased season tickets in the past your seats will be held until Wed., Aug. 26, at which time they will be released to those on the waiting list. Please notify Nancy Hardeman at 706-359-3121 or 359- 3069 if you do not wish to purchase your seats. The cost is $40 for the season.
Summer revival
The annual summer revival will be held at Newberry Missionary Baptist Church Mon. - Thurs., Aug. 10 - 13 at 7 p.m. Rev. Daniel Ramsey, pastor of Smith Grove Baptist Church will be guest minister. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor. Everyone is invited.
Evening of praise
Faith Tabernacle will be sponsoring an evening of praise and worship on Saturday, August 1 at 6 p.m.
Featured will be the FTC Praise Team, FTC Praise Dancers; guest choir First Mt. Moriah Church and FTC Choir
