Mrs. Virginia Stevenson McClearen, 91, formerly of Hillcrest Dr., Washington, Ga., entered into rest Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elberton, Ga.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Resthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. McClearen, daughter of the late Clifford and Ida Ruth Wolfe Stevenson was a native of Lincoln County. She had lived in Washington most of her life and operated Virginia's Beauty Salon for over 45 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington, National Cosmetologist Association, and the Town and Country Garden Club which she served as president of in 1959.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" McClearen, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Valerie M. Jackson and husband, Bobby, of Tignall, Ga.; a son, Billy McClearen and wife, Barbara, of Tifton, Ga.; four grandchildren, Steve Jackson, Rob Jackson, Leianna M. Ishler, and Brittany McClearen; seven great-grandchildren, Tabor, Brock, Maura, Hunter, Brent, Wilkes, and Lexie.
