Board of elections meetings
The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. Any changes to the scheduled dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.
GED/Adult classes
Augusta Technical College and Lincoln County Family Connection are offering GED/Adult Literacy classes on Mon. and Tues., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, please call 706-359-3425 or 706-359-5769.
NA meetings
N.A. meetings are held at the Lincoln County Library from 6 - 7 p.m. every Friday. For more information, please call 706-359-5808.
Covered dish lunch
A lake level celebration and covered dish lunch will be held at the Lincoln County Historical Park Aug. 5. Please bring your dish at 11:30 and visit for a while. The blessing will take place at 12 sharp so those needing to get back to work can take a plate with them.
This celebration is to thank God for our rain and to salute the Corps of Engineers for filling up all three of our lakes.

Bohler reunion
The descendants of John T. and Mary Frances Perry Bohler will have a reunion Sun., July 19 at The Lincoln Center from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. for lunch and fellowship. Bring covered dishes to share. Lunch will be about 1 p.m. Plates, cups, utensils, napkins and ice will be provided.

Church anniversary
White Rock Baptist Church will celebrate its 135th anniversary on Sun., July 19 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. T. C. Edwards and Friendship Baptist Church of Aiken, S.C. Dinner will be served. Everyone is invited. Rev. Seymore Harrison, Sr. is pastor.
Mobile mammography
The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on July 21 and Aug. 31.
Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health depart- ment at 359-3154 for more information

True Fellowship invites everyone to prayer each Tuesday 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Bishop James Ware is pastor.

VBS at First Assembly
Vacation Bible School is set to begin Mon., July 27 at First Assembly of God and will run through Fri., July 31 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Children in grades K-4 through sixth grade are invited to join us each night as the Boomerang Express takes a train ride through the Land Down Under and kids discover the vastness of God's love. Revival at Pine Grove
Pine Grove United Methodist Church will have revival services with Evangelist Donald Walton Sun., Aug. 2 - Fri., Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. nightly. On Sun., Aug. 2, morning services will begin at 11 a.m. with evening services at 7 p.m. A fellowship dinner will be held Wed. at 6 p.m. as well as an ice cream social on Friday following the service.
Consignors wanted
Lincolnton United Methodist Church is looking for consignors for its semi-annual kids consignment sale which will be held Aug. 27 - 29. Cosignors receive 60% and missions receives 40%. Please contact the church office at 706-359-4339 for more information.

Bingo is Friday
Bingo is played at the American Legion Post 194, Lincolnton, Georgia, every Friday at 7:30 p.m. A snack bar is operated by the Ladies Auxiliary available during bingo. For more information, contact (706) 359-3445.
Fish fry Sat.
Beulah Baptist Church, Hwy. 79 N. at Gills Point Rd., will have a fish fry and bake sale Sat., July 25 at 6 p.m. All proceeds will go toward paving the parking lot at the family life center. Take out orders are available for the fish fry.
Student registration
New student registration for Lincoln County Elementary School will be held Tues., July 21, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Open house will be held Thurs., Aug. 6, 5:30 - 7 p.m. with orientation for Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade - 5:30 - 6 p.m.; second and third grade - 6 - 6:30; and fourth and fifth grade - 6:30 - 7. The first day of school is Fri., Aug. 7.
AA meeting
There is an Alcoholics Anonymous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the old Leah Fire Dept station across from Pair of Jacks on Washington Rd. in Leah Georgia.
VBS at LUMC
Vacation Bible School will be held at Lincolnton United Methodist Church Mon., July 20 - Thurs., July 23 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. for children ages 4 - 11.
Strother reunion

CCLC to meet
The Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will meet Thurs., July 16, 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library. Mr. Mike Taylor and Jason Pope from The Bug House Pest Control will be guest speaker and will speak on keeping your home bug free. They will also address questions to the CCLC in the letter to the editor section of The Lincoln Journal. Everyone is welcome.
Homecoming at Hephzibah
Hephzibah Baptist Church will have Homecoming Day on Sun., July 19 with Sunday School at 10 a.m.; worship service at 11 a.m. and a barbecue and covered dish dinner on the grounds at 12:15.
Revival service will be held Mon. - Wed., July 20 - 22 at 7:30 p.m. Guest ministers will be: Mon. - Rev. Bobby Adams of Goshen Baptist Church; Tues. - Rev. Russell Davis of New Work Baptist Church; Wed. - Rev. Paul Reviere of Tabor Baptist Church. There will be special music nightly and a nursery will be provided.
Everyone is welcome. Hephzibah Baptist is located off the Washington Hwy. one-half mile from the Wilkes County line.

Dinner at Post 194
Dinner served at American Legion Post 194 every Wed. night at 6:30 p.m. and Fri. at 7 p.m. Wednesday's menu changes weekly. Every Friday is steak night. A large variety salad bar, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, bread, dessert and ice tea are included with steak. Come out and join us for a delicious meal.
LCFA to meet
The Lincoln County Fireman Association will meet July 30, 2009 at the EMS office on School Street. A meal will be served starting at 7 p.m. We would like all firemen from all Lincoln County districts and the Lincolnton district to please attend. Meet the new EMS director.
Usher anniversary
