Board of elections meetings
The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. Any changes to the scheduled dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.
GED/Adult classes
Augusta Technical College and Lincoln County Family Connection are offering GED/Adult Literacy classes on Mon. and Tues., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, please call 706-359-3425 or 706-359-5769.
Discounted tickets
Discounted Six Flags tickets are available at the Lincoln County Extension Office, 288 N. Peachtree Street (beside Ga Power). 4-H has one date tickets available for $28.00, the gate price is $42.39. For more information call (706-359-3233) or come by. Help support 4-H in Lincoln County.
Children's Bible study
New Work Baptist Church is offering a Children's Bible Study this Summer for children grades 1 thru 6. The study is "Jesus, The One and Only". This 6 week study begins June 10 from 7 to 8:15 pm. For more information call 706-359-1480.
NA meetings
N.A. meetings are held at the Lincoln County Library from 6 - 7 p.m. every Friday. For more information, please call 706-359-5808.
Graduation test schedule
Summer testing for the Graduation Test will be held at Lincoln County High School according to the following schedule: language arts - Mon., July 13; math - Tues., July 14; writing - Wed., July 15; science - Thurs., - July 16; social studies - Fri., July 17.
Testing will begin at 8:15 a.m. each morning.
Community cookbook
The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce is creating a Community Cookbook. We are looking for recipes, children's artwork, and local businesses to advertise. We are looking for a minimum of 500 recipes. Please contact the chamber at 706-359-7970 to receive a submission form.
Mobile mammography
The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on July 21 and Aug. 31.
Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health department at 359-3154 for more information
Tuesday prayer
True Fellowship invites everyone to prayer each Tuesday 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Bishop James Ware is pastor.
Church anniversary
First Baptist Church will celebrate its church anniversary July 26 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. A.J. Richardson and Clifford Grove Church will be in charge of the service. The public is invited. Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.
Community singing
The Lincoln County Ministerial Association will host a Community Singing on Sunday night, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God. Anyone that would like to sing a special song is asked to contact Rev. Terry Bonds at 359-7237 or Rev. Dan Rosser at 359-3303. Pastor anniversary
Mulberry Christian Methodist Episcopal Church family will celebrate the first anniversary of Pastor George Glenn Sun., July 12 at 1 p.m. Rev. Willie J. White and Newberry Missionary Baptist Church will be special guests. Dinner will be served.
Fun Day July 12
The New Tabernacle Baptist Church would like to remind its members of its annual Fun Day and church services to be held at Elijah Clark State Park on Sunday, July 12th. VBS at Morningside

Benefit bake sale
A benefit bake sale for Tyler Epps will be held Sat., July 11 at Radio Shack parking lot, Lincolnton, at 8 a.m. A drawing will be held for a cake designed by Shannon Rentz. For special request cakes, call Pam at 706- 513-2604.

Bingo is Friday
Bingo is played at the American Legion Post 194, Lincolnton, Georgia, every Friday at 7:30 p.m. A snack bar is operated by the Ladies Auxiliary available during bingo. For more information, contact (706) 359-3445.

AA meeting
There is an Alcoholics Anonymous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the old Leah Fire Dept station across from Pair of Jacks on Washington Rd. in Leah Georgia.
Free legal help
Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) staff will be in Lincoln County to meet with senior citizens wanting free legal help, on a firstcome, first-serve basis, at The Lincoln Center on Tues., June 23 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

New ministry

Student registration
New student registration for Lincoln County Elementary School will be held Tues., July 21, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Open house will be held Thurs., Aug. 6, 5:30 - 7 p.m. with orientation for Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade - 5:30 - 6 p.m.; second and third grade - 6 - 6:30; and fourth and fifth grade - 6:30 - 7. The first day of school is Fri., Aug. 7.
Ministry anniversary
The Youth Ministry of Saint Luke Baptist Church will celebrate its second youth anniversary on Sun., July 5 at 2:30 p.m. Guest preacher will be Rev. Derwin Jackson who serves as tenth district youth president for the General Missionary Baptist Convention of GA, Inc. Rev. Alvin Rivers is pastor.
Putt-putt tourney
Play all 18 holes of Elijah Clark State Park's putt-putt course during their activities leading up to the Lincoln County and McCormick County "Thunder Over Thurmond" Fireworks Show on Fri., July 10 from 5 - 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in different age groups.
A park pass fee of $5 per car will be charged.
Dinner at Post 194
Dinner served at American Legion Post 194 every Wed. night at 6:30 p.m. and Fri. at 7 p.m. Wednesday's menu changes weekly. Every Friday is steak night. A large variety salad bar, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, bread, dessert and ice tea are included with steak. Come out and join us for a delicious meal.
Boat ramp closing
Elijah Clark Day-Use Boat Ramp will be closed Sat., July 11 all day. The day use area will be used for the viewing area for the annual "Thunder Over Thurmond" Fireworks Show and will be closed for one day only. This is for safety of the public visiting the park. No boat trailer parking will be allowed in the boat ramp/day use area. For more information, call 706-359-3458.
