Dennis Sanders honored by Georgia House of Rep.
DENNIS SANDERS District Attorney Dennis Sanders of the Toombs Judicial Circuit was recognized and commended by the Georgia House of Representatives during the last session.
The members of the House commended Mr. Sanders for his "efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service" stating that "he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state". The purpose of Resolution 549, which was introduced by Representative Sistie Hudson, was "that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized".
The Resolution reflects many of the accomplishments of District Attorney Sanders over the years. Among those accomplishments, the resolution states that Mr. Sanders was a standout student- athlete at Mercer and is currently the President of the Mercer Law School Alumni Board.
In his career, it was noted that Mr. Sanders is past District Attorney of the Year of Georgia, Chairman of the State Ethics Panel for the State Bar of Georgia, President of the Toombs Circuit Bar, member of the Board of Governors of Georgia, and has been named as a Super Lawyer. The resolution pointed out that Mr. Sanders was and is a lecturer for other prosecutors and other attorneys, not only in Georgia, but throughout the nation. It further reflects Mr. Sanders' service to his community as evidenced by his receiving the Justice Robert Benham award for community service.
While it pointed out that Mr. Sanders is known throughout the State as the Senior District Attorney in Georgia, he may be best known in his local community as the Voice of the Thomson High Bulldogs on the local radio since 1976.
