Chief Justice reports on departmental activities
An activity report for the Lincolnton Police Department was issued recently by Chief Jim Justice.
According to the chief, the following arrests were made in the city:
.. David Burgess, 32, of Lincolnton, charged with simple battery, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and cruelty to children.
.. Kenneth Lane, 45, of Lincolnton, charged with giving a false name and date of birth to an officer, driving with a suspended license, and violation of headlight requirements.
.. Sammie Wright, 20, of Lincolnton, charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the second degree, and cruelty to children in the third degree.
.. Eddie Lockhart, 28, of Lincolnton, charged with aggravated assault and affray.
.. Owen Jones, 21, of Lincolnton, charged with disorderly conduct.
.. Darrien Gladmon, 18, of Lincolnton, charged with aggravated child molestation.
.. Renita Harris, 30, of Lincolnton, charged with DUI and failure to main- tain lane.
.. Harvey Lee Freeman, 43, of Lincolnton, charged with DUI, improper stopping on roadway, violation of the open container law, and violation of the seat belt law.
.. Ellis Edward Raley, 28, of Lincolnton, charged with DUI, violation of the open container law, and failure to maintain lane.
.. John Kevin Coleman, 25, of Lincolnton, charged with DUI, having no proof of insurance, and failure to register vehicle (no tag).
Concerning incidents occurring the city:
.. An employee of Fast Times Convenience Store reported that an unknown white female, driving a silver colored vehicle, drove off without paying for $15.71 worth of gas.
.. Amanda Dornberg reported that an unknown person(s) cut the gate to her dog fence and removed two red, male Chows and one black and tan Dachshund female. The total value of the animals was $1,600.
.. Mario Gresham reported the theft of his Samsung cell phone from a residence in Lincolnton. The phone was valued at $80.
.. Lavinia Elam reported that an unknown person(s) stole prescription medication from her vehicle while it was parked at Faith Tabernacle.
.. Angela Tutt reported that $100 was stolen from her residence.
Chief Justice indicated that all of the above incidents are still under investigation.
