Ms. Irma Hobbs, of Sanford, N.C. announces the engagement of her daughter, Dee Hobbs of Lincolnton to Darien Simmons of Lincolnton, Ga.

The bride- elect is a graduate of Central Carolina in North Carolina and currently is attending the University of Phoenix. She is employed by Burger King Corporation.

The groom-elect is the son of Mrs. Shirley Ann Jones of Lincolnton and Mr. and Mrs. James Simmons of Thomson, Ga. He graduated from Lincolnton and is currently attending the University of Phoenix. He is currently employed by Wal-Mart.

An exchanging of vows is planned for May 29, 2009, 4:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Courthouse. A reception will be held at The Lincoln Center in Lincolnton on May 30, 2009 from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
