Williamsburg is one of the locations on a three year rotation that Jr. Beta takes. Last year the club visited Washington, D.C. and next year will travel to Philadelphia.
The members enjoyed a guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg on Thursday during the day. Later that evening they returned to Colonial Williamsburg for a ghost tour of the town. On Friday the group traveled to Monticello, the Home of Thomas Jefferson. While there they had a guided tour of his home and enjoyed learning the history of the land. Thomas Jeffersons family cemetery and birthplace are both on the grounds. That afternoon, they visited Jamestown settlement, which allowed the group to tour ships, settlement town, and indian villages. On Saturday, the group enjoyed a day at Busch Gardens before departing for home.
The trip was a wonderful success and all the members represented LCMS with great pride and dignity.
Everywhere we traveled including restaurants, we were given compliments regarding how well-behaved the students were. The trips are a way of taking students to places they may not ever be able to visit. Hopefully, it will stay with them a lifetime as one great memory from LCMS.
I would like to thank all the students and chaperones that went that made this trip one of the best trips we have ever taken. (Mrs. Burt) Picture ids:
