The Children's Summer Art Camps at the MACK have been scheduled. The various camps, times, etc. are listed below. You must call the MACK at 864-852-3216 to register your children for these camps by May 29. Last year the children had a wonderful time participating in the camps and they produced some wonderful art work!

.. Gourd and Abstract Painting Camp, June 15-19 from 10:00 - 12:00, cost $6 (all supplies included).

.. Kids Club Reading Camp, June 17, July 1, 15 and 29 from 1-4 p.m., ages 10-14, cost $10 which includes books, movie and snack.

.. Kid's Pottery Camp, June 29- July 3 from 10:00-12:00, ages 8 and up, cost $40 (all supplies included).

.. Photography and Scrapbooking Camp, July 6-10 from 10:00 - 12:00, ages 8 and up, cost $50 (all supplies included).

Helen Hutson will be offering her Basic Drawing class again beginning June 2. This is a series of five classes which will be held every Tuesday night at the MACK from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Please bring a sketch pad to the class. The cost of the class is $75. Clint Scott's next art class will begin his next class on Tuesday, June 2. His classes are from 1:00 - 3:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays through Tuesday, June 30. He welcomes students to work in the medium of their choice. The cost of this series of art classes is $135. Please call the MACK at 864-852-3216 to sign up. Friday, June 5 will be another fun night in McCormick. The Red Rooster Art Gallery and Antiques, the Depot, Keepsakes Friends, the Books on Main and the McCormick Art Council at the Keturah invite you to take part in another Art Trot from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. During this time, the MACK will be hosting a reception for artist Trina McNeill-Smith. Trina, a self-taught artist, longed to experiment with visual art and leave the workplace behind, all the while mentally painting pictures with her imagination. In 2000, she realized her dreams by cutting back from a successful business as a shop owner and hairdresser to devote time to watercolor, pastel, oil and charcoal. Stop in and visit with the artist and enjoy refreshments while viewing her art. Plan to spend June 5 from 6:00 - 8:00 in McCormick. Mark your calendar now!

The Sixth Annual Juried Photography Exhibition is coming up in July. All entries for the juried photography competition will be received on June 13 by appointment, and June 15 and 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This exhibition offers awards of $250 for Best of Show, $150 for Second Prize and $100 for Third Prize.
