Mr. Arthur Glisson, 77, of Buford, Ga., passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Copeland officiating. Interment and graveside service were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.

Mr. Glisson was born October 10, 1931 in Augusta, Ga. He was a 1949 graduate of Richmond Academy in Augusta and he attended college in Boling Green, Kentucky where he received his degree in accounting. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and a retired comptroller with National Forestry after ten years of service. He was a Mason and a mem- ber of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, Ga. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Buford, Ga.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Dolores Spires Glisson; daughters and son-in-law, Audrey Glisson of The Woodlands, Texas, and Daina and Mark McHugh of Powder Springs, Ga.; sons and daughters in-law, Auby and Theresa Glisson of Douglasville, Ga., Glenn and Apple Glisson of Philippines, and Gary and Maria Glisson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters, June Dessi of Italy and Joyce Matoba of Stone Mountain, Ga.

Junior E. Flanigan of Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
