HELEN ELEASE SNEAD A memorial service celebrating the life of Helen Elease Snead, 80, of Palm Coast, Fla., who passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Port Orange, Fla. was held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Craig- Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Fla.
Helen was born on August 15, 1928 in Lincolnton, Georgia to the late Will and Leola (Kennedy) Garnett. She was the owner of Helen and Mickey Design, where she was a custom dressmaker and designer in White Plains, NY. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, a member of the Deborah Foundation and a member of The Whozits Inc. in White Plains, NY. A wife, mother, and multifaceted businesswoman, she was an expert seamstress and enjoyed traveling, reading, and crafts. She moved to Palm Coast in 1983, coming from White Plains, NY.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Ruby Turman, Anne Danner, and Johnnie Crawl; and three brothers, Roy Hogan, John W. Kennedy, and Frankie Kennedy.
Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Homer Snead Jr. of Palm Coast; her son, Ernest Snead of White Plains, NY; her daughters, Deborah Snead-Duffy and husband, Terrence of Palm Coast, Diane Snead- Elam and husband, Tony of Bunnell, Eula Davis of Elmsford, NY; three sisters, Dorothy Washington, Reva Glaze, and Mary Glimp, all of Reading, Pa.; three brothers, Eddie Garnett of White Plains, NY, John Garnett of Reading, Pa., and Nathan Hogan of Elmsford, NY; seven grandchildren; and her ten great-grandchildren.
