Ida Ware Scott

IDA WARE SCOTT IDA WARE SCOTT Miss Ida Ware Scott, 23, of Goshen Street, entered into rest on Monday, April 13, 2009, in Appling, Georgia.

A beloved daughter and sister, a dear friend to many, and a great scholar, Miss Scott was a 2004 honor graduate of Lincoln County High School. Her popularity with her classmates earned her a spot on the Senior Homecoming Court, and her flair for fashion and design earned her the senior superlative of Best Sense of Style. However, her superlative of Best All- Around truly encapsulated Miss Scott. Known for her dramatic talent, her performances, both on and off the stage, possessed a depth rarely seen in someone so young. She possessed the best qualities of an artist, a model, and, most importantly, a scholar. Her love of learning and her love for children with special needs inspired her to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Georgia Southern University, graduating with honors in 2008. She used her many talents to help children with special needs reach their potential at Grovetown Middle School. Her dedication to her students, her love for her family, fiancé, and friends, and her infectious laugh and dry wit will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her parents, Fred and Bonnie Sue Holloway Scott; her fiancé, Justin Rickerson of Lincolnton; a sister and brother-in-law, Audra S. and Lex Aycock of Lincolnton; and nieces, Ali and Lexi Aycock.

Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul C. Reviere and Randy Smith officiating.

Pallbearers were, Ben Dawkins, Cal Holloway, Mel Partridge, Scott Partridge, Brad Sandifer, and Clay Turner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, Attn: Gift Management Svcs., 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, Texas 75244. donorinquiry@komen.org.
