Jobs and training for young people
Using funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Lincoln County Family Connection will sponsor a summer youth employment program.
To qualify for the initiative, an individual must:
.. Be 18 to 24 years of age.
.. Live in Lincoln County.
.. Have a high school diploma or GED as of May 31.
During the nine-week program, local youth will have the opportunity to receive a certificate in customer service or carpentry, while earning a paycheck at the same time. The classes will be held at LCHS.
Applicants and their legal guardians are asked drop by The Lincoln Center on Thursday, April 30, at 6 p.m. to register for the program. Proof of household income, a birth certificate, and a Social Security card are required.
Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
