Dora Elizabeth Myers

Mrs. Dora Elizabeth "Liz" Myers, 76, of Ralph Goolsby Road, entered into rest Monday, April 6, 2009 at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with the Revs. Larry Chkoreff and Paul C. Reviere officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Myers, a native of Eastman, Ga., was the daughter of the late James Horton and Carrie Burnette McCranie. She lived most of her life in Chesapeake, Va. where she was employed by the Chesapeake Virginia Police Department as a school crossing guard. Lincolnton became her home in 1983. She was a member of the Victory Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Edwin Myers and son, Herbert Benson Williams.

Surviving family members include a grandson, Clifton Benjamin Williams and wife, Amy of Lincolnton; granddaughter, Amber Dawn Holloman and husband, Bert of Chesapeake, Va.; sister, Earlene Williams and husband, John of Eastman; and a great-grandchild, Colton Roman Holloman.
