A tight squeeze through a Crooked Bridge

Battling stumps, rocks, freezing temperatures, and high winds, it took three trips to move 637 feet of dock and a ship's store with gas pumps (pictured) from the Fort Gordon Recreation Center to the Soap Creek Marina. Another challenge was maneuvering the ship's store through the supports for Crooked Bridge with only a half inch of clearance on each side. "We are excited about the new addition," stated marina owner Clay Antonakos. "It will allow us to offer the public covered slips for uncovered prices."
