Hubert Bostic Lindsey
H. B. LINDSEY, SR Mr. Hubert Bostic "Jew" Lindsey, Sr, 90 of Elm Street, entered into rest Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at McDuffie County Hospital, Thomson, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at Morningside Baptist Church with Revs. Dan Fernandez and Robert Rayner officiating. Interment followed in Fishing Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkes County.
Mr. Lindsey, son of the late William Lindsey and Rosa Lee Thurmond Lindsey, was a native of Wilkes County but had resided in Lincoln County since 1971. He was a retired insurance agent and business owner. He also served in the U. S. Army National Guard and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and American Legion Post #194.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce H. Lindsey; sons and daughters-inlaw, Hubert B. Lindsey, Jr. and wife, Wilma of Washington and Justice Eugene Lindsey and wife, Jayne Cormier of Marietta, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law. Debbie Brown and husband, Gene of Lincolnton, Pam Holloway and husband, David of Pinopolis, S.C. and Donna Dillashaw and husband, Jerry of Greenwood, S.C.; sister, Lounelle L. Austin of Washington; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Dustin Dillashaw, Dempsey Parham, Brantley Stevens, Ryan Stevens, Brent Holloway and Tommy Dawkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Dawkins, Sr., and members of American Legion Post #194 as well as members of the Ladies Auxillary.
