Residents invited to discuss lake levels at meeting

A public forum will be held Tuesday, February 17, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom on the second floor of the Lincoln County Courthouse to discuss the economic impact of low lake levels on Lincoln County businesses, citizens, and governments.

The meeting is being sponsored by the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners and "Save Our Lakes Now," a local citizens' advocacy group.

United States senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson as well as United States congressmen Paul Broun and Gresham Barrett (SC) will be represented at the forum. State Senator Bill Jackson and State Representative Lee Anderson have also been invited to attend the meeting.

Members of the community are heartily encouraged to come to the February 17 meeting to share how they have been impacted by the low lake levels and to ensure that when the law is changed, every problem is addressed.
