Mr. Lonnie F. Martin, 74, of Cartledge Road, entered into rest on Friday, January 30, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Deryl Odom officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Alvin Cox, Richard Davis, Kermit Hocutt, Chase Martin, John Martin, James "Marty" Martin, Dwayne Reese and Pat Smith.

Mr. Martin was the son of the late John C. and Carrie Mae Crook Martin. He was assistant manager at Ascot Drapery and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his stepmother, Myrtle P. Martin and a brother, Randy Martin.

Survivors include five sisters, Carol M. Reese and husband, Russell of Lincolnton, Janet M. Smith and husband, James of Lexington, Ga., Brenda M. Martin of Goose Creek, S.C., Ruby M. Pope and husband, Jimmy of Lincolnton and Bonnie M. Riddle and husband, Jerry of Houston, Tx.; one brother, Clint Martin and wife, Pam of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eighteen nieces and nephews; twentynine great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great-nephews.
