DENISE WILLIAMS DENISE WILLIAMS Denise Williams, a Lincoln County native now living in Atlanta, will sign copies of her first book, "It's Time to Arise," at the Lincoln County Library from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 24.

The book chronicles the author's struggle with abandonment issues as well as physical and emotional abuse. In its pages, she candidly shares how she found the courage to confront her greatest enemy — herself.

"We are all faced with obstacles in life, and we can either let those obstacles stand as stumbling blocks or we can use them as building blocks," stated Williams. "Through God's grace, I learned to find strength in overcoming my weaknesses and to never underestimate the worth of one woman. I learned to use those obstacles as building blocks to enable me to successfully pursue my purpose and passion."

She went on to say she is very transparent in her writing. "I must be honest if I am to help someone who is hurting where I once hurt. My hope is that this book will encourage, inspire, and empower others."

"It's Time to Arise" is dedicated to Williams' 20-year-old daughter.

A 1987 graduate of LCHS, Williams attended Mansfield Business College in El Paso, Texas, where she was named valedictorian of her class.

The gifted motivational speaker gave her first official seminar in 2000. She was amazed at the response of the audience as she unraveled her painful past and recognized that the women were all connected in an emotionally powerful way. As a result of that experience, she decided to make it her mission to work toward the empowerment of women throughout the world.

Today, she is a successful entrepreneur, serving as the CEO of both Denise Williams International and Denise and Associates. In addition to writing, she spends her time lecturing and facilitating workshops to help women live more fulfilled lives. She is also an ordained minister.

Copies of "It's Time to Arise" will be available for purchase at the book signing. The cost is $16.95.
