Cullars presented Good Citizen Award by Kettle Creek DAR

The award was presented to Cullars on Thursday, January 15, in the school's media center by Anneice Butler, DAR co-regent, and Kathy Dinnewith, the chapter's Good Citizen Award chairman.

According to Dinnewith, "Each year, the Kettle Creek Chapter of the DAR presents the Good Citizen Award to the high school senior who best exemplifies outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in the home, school, and community."

Cullars has been an exceptional student throughout his high school career. He has exhibited leadership qualities as president of both his junior and senior classes and as student council president his senior year.

In 2007, he became a licensed minister of the Gospel and has preached in Lincolnton and the surrounding areas. He also sings with the Lincoln County Mass Choir and the New Beginning Mass Choir.

Cullars plans to attend college and major in education and theology, with the twin goals of teaching high school math and establishing and pastoring his own church.

He is the son of Jackie Cullars of Lincolnton.
