Mr. Jasper Johnson, 63, of the Metasville Community, entered into rest Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 12 at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Blackmon officiating. Interment followed in Washington Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Wilkes County. He was the son of the late Hal and Ethel Davis Johnson, a barber by trade and a member of Loco Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, William (Kathy) Johnson of Tignall, Ga. and Randall Johnson of Metasville; one daughter, Debra Jordan of Tignall; one sister, Brenda Johnson of Washington, Ga.; three brothers, Ronnie (Annette) Johnson of Lincolnton, Allen (Linda) Johnson of Lincolnton and James (Linda) Johnson of Washington; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lewis Hall, Curtis Hall, Danny Matthews, Charles Mayes, Jason Bailey and James Stone. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bill Mobley, Ed Rhodes, Danny Byrd, Ray Wilson and Bobby Rachels.
