Sales closing date near for crop insurance in Georgia

USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA) reminds farmers of the November 20, 2008 sales closing date for crop insurance. This sales closing date is applicable for the following crops in Georgia: apples, blueberries and peaches. The sales closing date is the last date to purchase a new policy or to change the level of coverage for an existing policy.

Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance agents. Contact a local Multi- Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) agent to learn additional program details. A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA Service Centeres or on the RMA website at www.rma.usda.gov/tools/agents.
