Historical society looking for recipes for local cookbook

The Lincoln County Historical Society is in the process of compiling a cookbook to showcase all of the wonderful recipes Lincoln County people love to prepare.

"We want this cookbook to not only include recipes but some Lincoln County history as well," said Nelson Brooks, historical society president. "If you have any facts or human interest stories that reflect the history of Lincolnton, please submit them to us by Thursday, July 10, along with your favorite recipes. Submit as many as you like, and make sure you put your name on each entry."

Recipes and/or stories may be mailed to the Lincoln County Historical Society at P.O. Box 869, Lincolnton, Georgia, 30817 or placed in the drop box located on the front porch of the Groves-May House on Lumber Street.

In other comments, Brooks said, "We hope this cookbook will become a favorite of Lincoln County cooks as well as a resource for those interested in local history. The participation of the community in this endeavor is greatly appreciated."
