Steer and heifer show shootout set for June 14

The first-ever Lincoln County 4- H Steer & Heifer Show Shootout will take place Saturday, June 14, at Serendipity Farm, the home of Katrina and Doug Harmon on Lovelace Road.

The event is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.

During the afternoon, the following Lincoln County exhibition team members are set to "shoot it out" in the show ring: Dalton Tankersley, Justin Ashmore, C.J. Goldman, Carson Goldman, Ivie Sue Aycock, Tanner Aycock, Amberly Wilkes, Will Wilkes, Bentley Beggs, and Jake Durden.

The judge for the shootout is Brian Bolt, an agriculture teacher at Clemson University.

In addition to the exhibition, which will feature 20 steers and heifers, guests will also enjoy the "Old Timers' Show" during which 4-H and FFA alumni will compete to see who is still the best in showmanship.

And when stomachs start rumbling, barbecue sandwich plates may be purchased on the premises for $5 each.

Local residents are encouraged to head out to Serendipity Farm on Saturday for a day filled with fun, food, and fellowship.

For more information about the shootout, contact the Lincoln County Cooperative Extension Office at 706- 359-3233.
