Faith of a mustard seed TO THE EDITOR: I remember as a small boy, a man's handshake was as good as gold. I have forgotten a lesson I learned. Man will fail you. God is our Rock when times are hard lest we forget him when things are going well. Our church is trying to reach out to the youth of our community and surrounding counties thru a concert. We have been struggling as we speak, but our God is alive and well. Since the tickets were printed, another band has requested to play. We told them thank you and that we could not afford another band. They said that they wanted no money, not even one cent. They wanted to be a part of what we were trying to do by praising God through song. It was not about the money! Hmm, is something wrong here? Quite the opposite. God is in control. We have shook hands and talked to many people, but to little avail. We have a few very generous people who have been convicted to stand up and help and thank you all. God will richly bless you all. I know times are hard and money is tight for everyone. Can you put a dollar amount on salvation? Let us look: A concert is $10; Papa's Pizza is $7; a football game is $6; and Salvation: priceless. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. God will see this blessing take place because this country was founded by God, for God. I could go on and on, but I will close with this. If I shake your hand and tell you I will help you, I will most of the time, but I will fail you for I am only a man. Jesus Christ will never change. He is the only person we can have faith in that will never fail us. I might remind you our time frame and God's is not even close to being the same. RONNIE CLARY |
