Chief Justice reports on departmental activities

An activity report for the Lincolnton Police Department was issued recently by Chief Jim Justice.

According to the chief, the following arrests were made in the city:

.. Johnny Harrison, 49, of Lincolnton, charged with two counts of obstruction of a law enforcement officer and one count of disorderly conduct.

.. Matthew Blevins, 17, of Lincolnton, charged with shoplifting (misdemeanor).

.. Samuel Wright, 19, of Lincolnton, charged with statutory rape.

Concerning incidents occurring in the city:

.. Henry Madden, assistant principal at LCHS, reported that a cell phone and $6 were stolen from a student while the student was in gym class. The cell phone was valued at $150.

.. It was reported that an unknown person(s) used a sharp instrument to slash the top of a 1995 Mercedes Benz SL 500, belonging to Michele Mongrue, while it was parked at LCHS.

.. Guil Mattison at Farmers & Merchants Bank reported that an unknown black male passed a counterfeit $50 bill at the Family Dollar Store. The subject was between 5'8" and 5'10", in his early to mid-twenties, with a medium complexion, a muscular build, and a scorpion tattoo on his right forearm.

.. Stanley Parton, superintendent of the Lincolnton Water Department, reported that an unknown person(s) stole two cypress trees from the James Allen Reed Water Treatment Plant.

All of the incidents listed above are still under investigation, stated Chief Justice.
