Community Calendar No Scrabble in May The Scrabble Club which meets at the library will not meet in May because the books from the book sale will still be on display in the annex. Then the next Sunday is Mother's Day. We'll start up again in June. See you June 1! Class of 98 reunion The LCHS Class of 1998 will host its 10 year reunion on August 16, 2008. Planning meetings The Lincoln County Planning Commission will hold all its regularly scheduled meetings in the Planning and Zoning Conference Room located at 107 Perryman Avenue unless otherwise advertised. The meeting dates are:; July 7; Aug. 11; Sept. 8; Oct. 6; Nov. 10; Dec. 8. Fund set up A fund has been established at Farmers State Bank to aid The Beggs Family. The funds collected will help defray medical expenses associated with the cancer treatment and meet the needs of The Beggs Family. Contributions to the Beggs Fund may be made at the bank during regular business hours or by using the night depository. Donations may also be mailed to the bank at P.O. VBS at New Work New Work Baptist Church invites all children in Lincoln County to join us at SonWorld Adventure Park VBS! "Were ready for a Vacation Bible School your children will never forget," said Russell Davis, Pastor at New Work. "At SonWorld Adventure Park your kids will experience the fun and excitement of an amusement park!" Children will have a great time singing, watching skits, creating crafts and playing games. But most important, they'll discover more about who Jesus is and about some important choices everyone has to make. "We're looking forward to sharing this exciting event with the children and parents in our area. We hope they will all join us at SonWorld Adventure Park." Board of elections meetings The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. Any changes to the scheduled dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted. Scholarship day Newberry Missionary Baptist Church will host the annual Jennie Garnett Scholarship Day at 8 a.m., June 8. Big summer concert The BIG Summer Concert will be held at p.m., Sunday, June 1st, at First Assembly of God with musical guests: Broken Romance & The BIG Student Praise Band. Broken Romance is led by Evan Parham. Parham will lead amazing praise and worship to benefit the Jonathan Chancey Memorial Scholarship Fund. The BIG Student Praise and Worship Team will open the night, followed by the featured band from Elberton, Ga. There is no cost for the concert but an offering will be collected to support Lincoln County Youth who would like to attend Camp Timberlake the week of June 16- 20th. Fireworks June 27 The 13th Annual Fireworks over Lake Russell sponsored by the Elbert County Board of Commissioners will take place from 6 to 9pm on Friday, June 27, 2008 at Richard B.
