Walker will seek fourth term as commissioner

ALLEN WALKER
Allen Walker is seeking re-election to the District 4 seat on the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Walker and his wife, the former Claire Penland, reside on Chamberlain's Ferry Road. The couple has one daughter, Margie W. Cundy, and her husband, Ron, and two grandchildren, Allen Ross Cundy and Ella Claire Cundy.

The candidate has completed all of the course work prescribed by the County Commissioners' Training Program and has been recognized by the University of Georgia and the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) as a certified county commissioner.

Concerning other community activities, Walker is a member of First Assembly of God where he serves on the Official Board and teaches the Senior Adult Sunday School class.

He is also treasurer of the Lincolnton Lions Club, having served as president of the local club and zone chairman for District 18-F. In addition, the candidate is a member of the executive board for the Georgia- Carolina Boy Scouts of America, the ACCG Public Safety and Courts Committee, and the Lincoln County Emergency Food and Shelter Board.

In his comments, Commissioner Walker said, "The wisdom to know and the courage to defend the public interest of Lincoln County is my goal.

"Your vote to re-elect me to continue to serve as your commissioner for the next four years will be greatly appreciated."

The candidate has represented District 4 on the board of commissioners for the past 12 years.
