Robinson to run for District 4 seat on commission

ROB ROBINSON
Rob Robinson has announced his candidacy for the District 4 seat on the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.

Having resided in Lincoln County since 1993, the candidate said, "My desire is to serve the people of District 4 with integrity, honesty, and fair representation. There are many concerns and issues in District 4 that need to be addressed, including the inflation of taxes, how money is distributed for each district, road conditions, and a fair tax relief for senior citizens.

"I am willing to work for and represent this district to the best of my ability to help solve these problems."

From 1991 until his retirement in 2004, Robinson worked for Williams Industrial Services, Inc. in Stone Mountain, Georgia. As the general superintendent responsible for planning estimation, management, and supervision, he was in charge of projects ranging from $1 to $15 million, personally supervising crews of from 10 to 100 workers as they conducted coating, sandblasting, abatement, and roofing operations for pulp and paper, petrochemical, nuclear power, and clean room manufacturing industries.

The candidate also owned a very successful business in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, for 13 years.

Concerning community activities, Robinson has served as president of Sertoma International, a men's civic organization. During his term as president, he spearheaded the construction of a $70,000 children's park in Surfside Beach that was completed in 1990.

He is a proven business and community leader with knowledge and the desire to make Lincoln County work best for its people.

Robinson and his wife, Nell, have two children and four grandsons.

They are active members of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, where Mr. Robinson has served as a lay leader for the past seven years.
