Thomas R. McAbee, Jr.

Mr. Thomas R. (Tommy) McAbee, Jr., 74, of McCormick, S.C. entered into rest April 17, 2008.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at Overbook Cemetery in McCormick, S.C.

Mr. McAbee was born in McCormick and attended Presbyterian College. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of McCormick Baptist Church. He was a retired South Carolina State Transport Policeman.

Survivors include his wife, Claire Voyles McAbee and son Thomas "Russell" McAbee III; a brother, Jennings McAbee; and a sister, Connie M. Robinson, all of whom reside in McCormick.

Honorary pallbearers were the S.C. State Transport Police.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the T.R. McAbee Scholarship Fund at Clemson University.

Strom Funeral Home in McCormick, S.C. was in charge of services.
