Susie W. Ivey

Mrs. Susie W. Ivey, beloved wife of Carl V. Ivey of Hwy. 220 East, entered into rest on Monday, April 14, 2008 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Joyner and Rev.Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ivey was the daughter of the late George Bonner Williams and the late Susie Nelson Williams. She was a retired educator, having taught in the Lincoln County School System for 37 years and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Carl V. Ivey; two sons, Carl V. Ivey, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Hartwell, Ga. and Phil Ivey of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Carl V. Ivey III, William T. Ivey and Sue Ellen Ivey.

Serving as pallbearers were Gerald Boyd, Carl V. Ivey III, William T. Ivey, Bobby Parker, Mike Miller and George Williams.
