Pre-trial hearings held with Dunaway presiding Pre-trial hearings were held Thursday, March 27, at the Lincoln County Courthouse, with Chief Judge Roger W. Dunaway, Jr. presiding. During the proceedings: .. Mamie Gillon pleaded guilty to forgery in the first degree and was sentenced to five years probation, a $1,500 fine plus surcharges, and 80 hours community service. She was further ordered by the court to make restitution in the amount of $694.40 to Elijah Clark State Park and complete any counseling as directed by the probation department. .. Derrick D. Burns pleaded guilty to theft by receiving stolen property (felony) and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. On the theft by receiving count, he was sentenced to eight years (two years in confinement, with the balance on probation) and a $750 fine plus surcharges. On the second count, the defendant received 12 months confinement to run concurrent with all other sentencing. .. Monica Simmons a/k/a Monica Rutledge pleaded guilty to reckless conduct and received 12 months probation and a $500 fine plus surcharges. During arraignments held recently at the courthouse, with Judge Dunaway presiding, Edwin Vernon Brown pleaded guilty to harassing telephone calls and was sentenced to 12 months (30 days in confinement, with the balance on probation) and a $1,000 fine plus surcharges. |
