Workshop to be held in Washington March 15 A very successful Homebuyer Education and Understanding How to Improve your Credit Workshop was held at the newly renovated Pope Center on Saturday, February 23, 2008. The City of Washington along with other co-sponsors were able to provide important information to twentyfive (25) local residents, helping them understand the homebuying process which can be confusing, especially to first time homebuyers. The participants were also educated on how to maintain and improve their credit. Financial Fitness is the key to Wealth Building. The Workshop was attended by a diverse group of residents which included single mothers; single fathers; married couples and mothers and daughters, which showed family unity. These services are being offered "Free" to the participants. Everyone received a Certificate of Completion; Workbooks and many Handouts of educational material for future reference. This Workshop was the second one held in Washington, several more will be held throughout 2008. This educational venue is part of a program designed to help educate all residents of Washington and neighboring surrounding counties, but a strong emphasis is placed on the residents that what to be on the path of homeownership and credit improvement that live in the area of the Southwest Washington Redevelopment Plan. The next "Realizing the American Dream" Workshop will be held Sat- urday, March 15, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Pope Center.
