Picking a president
 | | In conjunction with this year's presidential election, the 6th and 7th grade enrichment students in Sandra Aycock's Language Arts classes nominated their favorite letter of the alphabet for president. Students used a thesaurus and a dictionary to build a word bank with challenging vocabulary words that begin with their favorite letter. Each student then wrote a short story explaining why their letter should be president. Pictured are (L-r): sixth grade winners Emmily Banks, second place, Ben Turner - first place; seventh grade winners: Deanne Hearst - second place and Brett Matthews - first place. |
