Stephens returns to 4-H

The Lincoln County Cooperative Extension Staff is happy to announce C. Monte Stephens has been named County Extension Agent, in Agriculture & 4-H for Lincoln County. He may look familiar to many since he served in Lincoln County from 2003 until 2005. Monte brings back to Lincoln County a wealth of experience. Not only did he work in Lincoln County earlier he also served as Cooperative Extension Agent for Green and Harrelson Counties and taught school for one year in Florida. Monte is married to the former Karen L. Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida and they are the proud parents of two sons, Camden (two years) and Daniel (one month).
Growing up as a 4-H'er in Green County, Monte has a special interest in youth and the opportunities 4-H offers. He looks forward to working with Lincoln County 4-H. He has already attended District Project Achievement since returning to Lincoln County on February 1st.
Monte received his B.S. & M.S. degrees in Animal Science while at- tending Alabama A&M University on a football scholarship. As a 4-H youth Monte showed livestock in various shows around the state. Last week he attended the Georgia Jr. National Livestock Show in Perry, Georgia and assisted 4-H Showman from Lincoln County. In addition to the livestock and other 4-H activities Monte will work with Lincoln County citizens with Agriculture questions or concerns.
