TIA Helping Hand The original Clothes Closet, located on Firetower Rd., has reopened, now as T.I.A. Community Helping Hand. All proceeds will go toward the Lincoln County Food Pantry and emergency needs of the community, 50/ 50. All donations are welcome, we will pick up. Your donations are appreciated. Planning meetings The Lincoln County Planning Commission will hold all its regularly scheduled meetings in the Planning and Zoning Conference Room located at 107 Perryman Avenue unless otherwise advertised. The meeting dates are: Jan. 7, 2008; Feb. 11; March 10; April 7; May 5; June 9; July 7; Aug. 11; Sept. 8; Oct. 6; Nov. 10; Dec. 8. Board meetings The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA 30817, any changes to the schedule dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted. Box 473, Lincolnton, GA 30817. Thank you for your support. Little League registration Lincoln County Little League registration for baseball is now taking place. You can sign up at Cliatt Crossing, Farmers & Merchant Bank, Goldman & Wengrow or the LC Recreation Dept. Deadline is Feb. 29, 2008. Class of 68 to meet The Lincoln County High School Class of 1968 will have a class reunion planning meeting at the Dova Partridge Annex of the library on Jan. 29, 7 p.m. Classmates are encouraged to come out and help plan the 40th reunion. Democrats to meet The democratic party will meet at the Lincoln County Public Library on Mon., Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. Dr. Lowell Greenbaum, chairman of the Richmond County Democratic Party, will be the guest speaker. Upward offered Upward Basketball and Cheerleading is currently open for registration for all boys and girls in K5-6th grades at the First Assembly of God offices. The cost is $45 per child and includes a jersey, t-shirt, water bottle and end of year award. Scholarships are available for any child needing financial assistance. Young Miss pageant The Lincoln Young Miss Pageant will be held Jan. 31 in the LCHS Auditorium at 7 p.m. Applications will be sent to the elementary school on Jan. 7. Applications may also be picked up at Koehler Galleries and the high school from Janet Dukes, FBLA Adviser. The application fee is $30 and the deadline to enter is Jan. 18 and should be returned to Janet Dukes, FBLA Adviser at LCHS. Marriage appreciation Marriage Appreciation Observance will be held at Newberry Missionary Baptist Church on Jan. 20 at 11:15 a.m. during regular worship service. Hours will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for basic and 1 - 3 p.m. for intermediates. Class size is limited. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. Cost is $15 administrative fee. MLK observance Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday observance will be held Sun., Jan. 20, 3 p.m. at the Lincoln County High School Auditorium. Mister pageant The third annual Mister Lincoln County Middle School contest and the first annual Mister Lincoln County High School contest is scheduled for Mon., Feb. 4 in the school auditorium. Applications can be picked up in both the middle and high school offices. Application deadline is Fri., Jan. 18. Entry fee is $30. Late deadline is Tues., Jan. 22. Late entry fee is $40.
