Rocking R to move corporate headquarters to McCormick

Greg Ruddell, president and owner of Rocking R International, Inc., recently announced that the company's corporate headquarters is moving from Lincoln County to McCormick, South Carolina.

Rocking R is a specialized communications service and authorized re- tail agent for Dish Network, Wild Blue, HughesNet, and Telesat.

According to Ruddell, "We are leaving in order to expand production. We have reached the point where we can't continue to grow here."

He indicated that the company had purchased 81 acres of land on Highway 378, with plans to build a complex there that would allow Rocking R to have all of its employees under one roof.

However, the feasibility of the project came into question when Ruddell found out that sewerage lines do not extend to the site and the fiber optic cable, currently being installed in the county by Wilkes Telephone & Electric Company, was not coming to the area anytime soon. "I couldn't wait on it," he said.

Although the company's headquarters is relocating to McCormick, Rocking R will still maintain an office in Lincolnton.

The move is planned for early 2009. "We have acquired two buildings in McCormick County, and renovations are currently underway," said Ruddell.

Rocking R's move to South Carolina represents more than a milliondollar investment in facilities and related equipment.

In closing, Ruddell stated, "I hate to leave Lincolnton. I really enjoyed being here."
