Giving thanks

TO THE EDITOR

What is important about Thanksgiving? Is it the foods that are prepared by the hands of our wives, mothers and grandmothers? Is it to celebrate the beginning of the holidays of Christmas and New Year? Is it to celebrate the beginning of the winter months to come?

It is all of these things, but most importantly, it is our way of saying to our Creator, "Thank you for life and all the abundance of gifts we take for granted in our daily lives."

Let us not forget that we owe all we are and all that life offers to our Father in Heaven.

His greatest desire for us is to reach out to those who are in need of our friendship and help in their daily lives.

Let us try to help all we meet in these days before Thanksgiving, and the remainder of the holiday season, to have a pleasant and fulfilling of both emotional and physical needs. Our Lord and Savior will be pleased if we all reach out to those in need of our help and support.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
