Charges filed against chief jailer
A month-long internal affairs investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office ended Monday, November 10, with the arrest of Ruby C. Pratt, 44, of McCormick, South Carolina.
Pratt worked at the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Center for the past four years. She has served as chief jailer since 2006.
After investigators questioned Pratt about items that had been received by the sheriff's office but were not accounted for, she was arrested, charged with two counts of theft by taking government property (electronic equipment), and terminated from her employment as chief jailer. The defendant was released later that day on a $5,000 bond.
In addition to Pratt, other arrests made recently by the sheriff's office include:
.. Rhonda Glover, 45, of Lincolnton, charged with three counts of sale of a controlled substance under the Georgia Controlled Substance Act (GCSA).
She was released on a $5,000 property bond.
.. Trey Lorenzo Booker, 25, of Lincolnton, charged with two counts of violation of the GCSA (sale of cocaine).
The defendant remains in custody for violation of probation as a result of his arrest on drug charges.
.. Willie "Boss" Mickens, 26, of Lincolnton, charged with one count of violation of the GCSA (sale of marijuana).
He is currently being held in the law enforcement center for violation of probation as a result of his arrest.
.. Robert Dee Freeman, 22, of Lincolnton, charged with two counts of violation of the GCSA (sale of cocaine).
He was released on a $10,000 property bond.
.. Ellis Jerome Curry, 21, of Lincolnton, charged with three counts of violation of the GCSA (sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine, and sale of cocaine within a school safety zone).
Curry is currently out on a $30,000 property bond.
.. Cynthia Deloach, 54, of Harlem, charged with two counts of violation of the GCSA (possession of Methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule II drug).
The defendant is being held on a $35,000 bond.
.. James Ramsey, 54, of Lincolnton, charged with one count of reckless conduct.
He has been released on a $2,500 property bond.
.. Jabbar Spencer, 36, of Appling, charged with 18 counts of forgery.
He is being held at the law enforcement center on a $36,000 bond.
During the month of October, personnel with the sheriff's office made 32 arrests, including eight DUI arrests, and filed 56 incident reports, four of these reports were for burglary and six for theft.
Deputies also worked a total of 16 accidents and served 51 civil process notices in various parts of the county.
