Policy teams make it to quarter finals at WRHS

Congratulations to the varsity policy team of TJ Carani/Jennifer Dandron and the novice policy team of Elizabeth Aaron/Connor Hamm, for making it to the quarter final rounds of their respective divisions at the Bruce Rogers Speech and Debate Tournament, held on October 24-25 at Warner Robins High School.

TJ was also recognized at the varsity division's sixth ranked speaker, a particularly impressive accomplishment given that this is his first policy debate tournament in over eight months.

Congratulations also go out to Meg Ball, who ranked third in humorous interpretation. Other students competing in individual events were, the duo interpretation teams of Carrie McCauley/Kentrell Norman and Amanda Scott/DeVante Starks; Carrie McCauley in impromptu speaking; and Amanda Scott in humorous interpretation.

Meg Ball also placed third in prose/ poetry at the Fayette Classic Tournament this past Saturday in Fayetteville, which included some of the most talented individual events with competitors from both Georgia and Alabama.

Other students competing for Lin- coln County High School at Fayette County were, Elizabeth Aaron in humorous interpretation; Jennifer Dandron in impromptu speaking and original oratory; Lauren Dill in prose/ poetry; Kristen Freeman in dramatic interpretation and impromptu speaking; Carrie McCauley in impromptu speaking; Kyrstie Scales in original oratory; DeVante Starks in prose/poetry; and the duo interpretation teams of Elizabeth Aaron/Carrie McCauley, Meg Ball/DeVante Starks, and Lauren Dill/Kyrstie Scales.

LCHS Debate team would like to give special thanks to Amanda Scott for judging for Lincoln County High School and helping to cover our judging requirement for the tournament.
