Mrs. Iris B. Hill entered into rest on Friday, October 31, 2008 at Heritage Healthcare of Wilkes in Washington, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis J. Quinn officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hill was a native of Lincoln County and was retired from Oxford of Lincolnton. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gospel Choir.

Survivors include two daughters, Lillie Ruth Hill and Carrie M. (Alchester) Kinlow, all of Lincolnton; one sister, Susie Mae Gartrell of Lincolnton; one daughter-in-law, Ruthie Mae Hill of Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister in-law, Betty J. Blackmon of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Norris W. Gunby, Sr. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
